Welcome to the Member-site of the ISSBD

ISSBD now has a completely new membership and conference registration system. This new system will allow you to easily join and re-new membership. The new system will allow for easier payment of fees with credit cards, with only minimal information collected. But also with other payment systems like Ali-Pay, and more locally relevant systems around the world.

Account registration

Everybody, whether you are a member, were a member, or want to become a member, must start by making a new account. Account registration is a required first step (needed to be able to log in to the members site), the account is free, remains valid as long as you like, is exclusively for the ISSBD, and is lean (just name and email).

Making an account is distinct from becoming a member. The reason the new system requires existing members to make a new account is that – for obvious reasons – we could not copy your password from the previous system maintained by SAGE.

Below are the steps to create a new account.

Use the menus to go to the Account form.
If you were known in the old registration system, please look up your email address from the dropdown list on top of the form, if found and selected other fields will be prefilled.
If you are new, fill in your name and email address.
Next, create a safe password, and press the submit button.
After you have successfully submitted your account form, you will receive an email confirmation. This may take a few minutes.
Next, you will receive a password confirmation link in your email. May take a few minutes more.

With an account, you will have access to your profile form, the online membership registration form, and many more forms in the future. Membership benefits are IJBD journal, online access, reduced conference fees, access to members-only pages, and voting rights.

Log in

After making an account, you are not automatically logged in (for safety reasons). You have to wait for the password confirmation link. With that link, you can activate the account, and log in with your self-chosen password (be sure to remember it).

Once you are logged in, you never have to type in information that you have already provided; all new forms will be automatically pre-populated with that information. If you do not remember your password, no problem, you can do the lost password procedure. Do not make a new account; mail to members@issbd.org in case of persistent problems!

Profile

In the profile form, you can enter your affiliation and street address information. Street address information might be needed for reimbursements for some universities, and is needed for receiving the journal. After submitting the form, the button Submit will change to Update. All information in this Profile form can always be updated.

Affiliation will be prefilled if you are a known member (but can be typed over), other fields needs to be accurate and actual, so please fill them in yourself anew.

Membership registration

Being a member implies having paid your membership dues for a given year. Membership is valid to the end of the calendar year. All you need to do is submit the Member form for the present year. Your account and profile information is prefilled (click on the arrow).

Join or Renew as ISSBD Member

If you still need to make a payment for 2023, fill in a valid credit card number, expiration date, and CVC code, and submit. That is all!

Note that, conveniently, you will stay on our member website (are not directed anywhere else).

Confirm earlier payment as ISSBD Member

If you have already paid your membership dues for 2023 on the old website, you just need to confirm this by submitting the member 2023 form, which is prefilled completely, and thereby connect it to your account. No new payment needed.

Note that, if you were a member before 2023, but have not yet paid for 2023, you are strictly speaking not yet a member. In that case, proceed as indicated under Join or Renew as ISSBD Member.

If you have already paid for 2024 or later, on the old SAGE website (or have a lifetime ISSBD membership), you can confirm that too. Once you have confirmed the 2023 membership, a new menu item takes you to the 2024 form, once you have confirmed your 2024 membership, a new menu item appears, that can take you to the 2025 form, etc.

How to pay?

Credit Card

We use Stripe to handle Credit Card payments. You only have to enter your credit card information, and submit, that is all.
After a successful payment, your Membership Status will change to Completed and your user role will be updated, unleashing new possibilities, such as Conference 2024 registration. Also, the button Submit, you just clicked, will change to Update.

The form for a given next year will be prefilled with all information from previous years, except for credit card information, so you only need to fill in the credit card information for later years, and that is all.

Confirmation

How do I know my payment was successful? First, you will see a green success message on your screen, but you can not open the form again. Under My-History you can see a summary of all your membership and conference registration information, in addition you will receive two emails: one with an overview with a listing of all info on this form and including a downloadable PDF receipt or invoice, and one with a receipt send by our payment handler STRIPE.

Failed Payments

If you have clicked on Submit, but your payment was cancelled, did not go through, or if there were card issues, your status will continue to be indicated as “waiting” and you will receive no emails. You can check if your status is “Completed” or “Waiting” on the My-History page or in the form you were submitting. Sometimes it may take a little time, so, be patient.

In exceptional case of failed payments, on the form itself, the button Submit might be changed to Update. Since updating does not affect your status, and does not allow payment anew, using it does not help to solve this issue.

In other very rare cases, if the button stays on Submit, but your status does not change to “Completed” and you try to go back, you may get a warning that you cannot submit again.
Fortunately, to solve both these problems, if your status does not change to “Completed” within 15 minutes, your entry will be automatically deleted. Once you receive an email message that your entry has been deleted, please try again: no problem.

Renewal

A new membership form allows you to pay for the next year: member2024, member2025, etc.

This next year member form will have all information copied from last year, so, you typically only have to type in your credit card information (we don’t store that) and submit. We decided not to charge you automatically each year (consumer protection), so you need to do this each year, but we made it very user-friendly to do this.

If your situation has changed during the year, you can go back to your Profile form to make changes. The next new member form (for the next year) will have that updated most recent info from Profile prefilled again. However, you cannot change a member form that has been submitted (it is the basis of your receipt and therefore fixed).

Existing members

If you have already paid for 2023 on the old website, we will have that information. But you still need to make a new account because an account involves a password (and only you should be able to make a password). This account must be connected to the correct forms by selecting your email address from a dropdown list (we use only small caps).

If you were a member before 2023, but have not yet paid for 2023, you are strictly speaking not a member (yet). In that case, proceed as a prospective member: make an account and pay online for membership 2023.

If you have already paid for 2024 or later on the old website, we will proceed as for members who already paid for 2023.

Reduced fees for multiple year memberships

The ISSBD has a good tradition of reducing membership costs for members that pay for more than one year at once. We respect and continue that tradition. The membership fees for the years after the present year will 50% lower than the fees for the present year. However, these forms with reduced fees (e.g., for 2024 and 2025 during 2023) will be available only provided you are a member for the present year. After the last day of the year, the forms will be updated to shift this arrangement a year ahead in time. The form for the present year will be closed at the end of the year.

Reduced Regional Membership Fees

Residents of the countries are eligible for a considerable reduction in fees (based on World Bank categories for lending eligibility). See the form.

General

If you cannot type in a field, it usually means the field it is on read-only (highlighted in blue on the perimeter of the box) because information should be retrieved from another form. You can go to the Form this information was supposed to be retrieved from (e.g. Profile for affiliation and address) and it will be correct on the form for the next year of membership.

My-History

On the My-History page you can see a summary of your memberships, registrations and submissions.

Problems?

If the Submit button does not seem to work, this maybe caused by errors in one of the fields on the form: inspect your form carefully for error messages, in small print, in red, under a field or set of fields. Correct the problem and all will be fine.
