Account and Login
Do I need to create a new account?
Yes, everybody needs an account in our new registration system. If you were a member under the old system (managed by SAGE until 2023), you must create a new account because passwords could not be transferred. Creating an account is free and only requires your name and email.
What is the difference between an account and a membership?
An account lets you log in and access the site, while membership requires paying the annual dues. You need an account before you can register for membership.
How do I log in?
After creating your account, you can log in immediately using your chosen password.
In case you forget it, use the “Lost Password” function. If the “Lost Password” option doesn’t work, it is probably because you have not created an account on the new system with that email address yet.
Please check that you are using the correct email address, and refrain from creating a second account unless it is genuinely necessary. You can reach out to members@issbd.org if you have any questions.
Profile and Personal Information
How can I update my personal information?
You can update your profile anytime (e.g., affiliation, address, or career details). Go to your Profile form and click “Update.” Your latest information will automatically appear in new forms.
What is the ‘My-History’ page on the top blue menu?
The My-History page allows you to see a summary of your membership records, payments, and other submissions.
Membership Registration and Renewal
How long is my membership valid?
Membership runs from January 1 to December 31 each year, regardless of when you join. You will need to renew annually.
How do I renew my membership?
Each year, you will need to fill in a new form and enter your payment details again (we do not store them). Your profile information will be pre-filled to make the process easy. Automatic renewals are not available for consumer protection reasons.
Can I renew my membership for multiple years?
Yes. You can secure your membership for future years, but only in consecutive order.
For example, you can register for 2026 only if you are already a 2025 member. If you are not a 2025 member, registration for 2026 will open in November of that year.
Do I have a membership ID number?
In the new registration system, you no longer need to remember an ID number, and you will not be required to provide an ID number for any purpose. Your email address serves as your unique identifier and is all you need to access your account or confirm your membership.
Where can I find my membership certificate?
The email you received upon registration serves as your formal membership confirmation. You can also download your receipt from My History >> My Memberships in the top blue bar.
Payments and Fees
How do I pay my membership fees?
Payments are made online via credit card, Alipay or WeChat Pay. After payment, your status will change to “Completed” and you will receive a confirmation email.
How do I know if my payment was successful?
You will see a green success message on your screen, a downloadable PDF receipt in “My-History” (in the blue top menu), and receive two emails: one from ISSBD with your details and one from the payment processor.
What if my payment fails?
If your payment is not processed, your status will remain “Waiting”. In that case, try again once your entry is automatically deleted (within 15–30 minutes). For persistent problems, contact members@issbd.org.
Where can I see my payment receipt?
You can download your receipt from My History >> My Memberships in the top blue bar.
Are there discounts for multiple-year memberships?
Yes. If you pay for additional years in advance, the fee for the following years is reduced by 50%. This option is available only if you are already a current member and residing in a high-income country.
Are there reduced fees for some countries?
Yes. Members living in LMIC countries (based on World Bank categories) can benefit from reduced membership rates. You can check your country group here. More details are available on this page.
Can I make changes after I submit the membership form?
You cannot change the membership form once your payment is complete (it serves as your official receipt). However, you can update your Profile at any time, and this will be reflected in future forms.

Do members have access to the ISSBD journal?
Yes. Membership includes online access to the International Journal of Behavioral Development. Once your membership is active, you can access the journal through the “Benefits” section of the member site. If you’d like to receive paper copies of the IJBD and Bulletins, please select that option on your Profile form.

What should I do if I can’t fill in a field on a form?
If a field is read-only (outlined in blue), it means the information comes from another form (e.g., account or profile). Update the relevant form and then refresh.
